The ‘Politikfabrik’ is a student agency for political communication and was founded in 2002, originating from a project at the Freie Universität Berlin. The goal of the first self-organised ’Politikfabrik’ campaign “Wahl Gang” was to motivate firsttime-voters to participate in the 2002 elections. Especially the TV- and cinema-commercials of the “Wahl-Gang 02″ and the first german WAHL-O-MAT, realized with the The Federal Agency for Civic Education, drew attention to the campaign.

After this very successful start, the ‘Politikfabrik’ continued their work, (co-) organising conventions and conferences. In 2007 we organised the travel adventure “eu_checker” an Bulgaria and Rumania and the “Model G8 Youth Summit” in Berlin.

The idea behind the “Politikfabrik” is to connect theory and practice within the university. We aim to provide students with an opportunity to gain insight in the proffessional job market and simultaneously offering space for creativity and innovative, unconventional ideas.

Established institutions and agencies from the field of political communication compose the curatorship of the ‘Politikfabrik’ and support us with their advise. They are aware of the potential students offer and support the development of Berlin as a location for universities with their dedication. For the charmenship of the curatorship we could aquire the esteemd TV-journalist Sandra Maischberger.

There is always a lot to do in the ‘Politikfabrik’ tehrefore applications for internships are always desired. As an intern you can either work on projects or develop and realise your own ideas. Presswork, PR-work, aquiring new partners and sponsors and preparing projects is the main part of the internship.
